Chess in the Park extended through September

We are happy to announce that Chess in the Park will continue to meet every Thursday evening through the end of September!

Joe Martin, who heads up “Common Sense Chess” has agreed to continue our chess gatherings to encourage chess lovers to stop by, play a few games and build a stronger chess community in Pawtuxet Village. Young people are especially encouraged to come and learn from more seasoned chess players. (Ages 12 and under require adult supervision.)

According to Joe: Chess enhances academic performance, it improves critical thinking skills, encourages creativity, facilitates problem solving and reasoning skills and improves memory.

As the weather turns colder Joe will be offering classes at the Trinity Parish Hall, 139 Ocean Avenue - $50 per month. Stop by any Thursday this month and talk to Joe to learn more!

And finally, we are also hoping to start a Saturday morning “chess hour” - join us and bring a cup of coffee!
Please note: Currently we will only meet on Saturdays by appointment, until there is enough interest. So please contact us first. All Ages Welcome!
