Point >2< Point

In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, the Governor Francis Neighborhood Association (GFNA) is reaching from Gaspee Point in RI to Breezy Point, New York.
The Governor Francis Neighborhood Association (GFNA) has organized a group called "Point >2< Point" to help raise money for all friends and families in Breezy Point and Rockaway, NY whose homes have burned down and are now living in temporary housing.

On Saturday, December 8th, during the
Pawtuxet Village Carriage Rides, volunteers will be selling laminated holiday ornaments for $1 to benefit the families in Breezy Point. You can purchase an ornament and then hang it on the Village Christmas Tree in Pawtuxet Park. Stop by the carriage rides, behind Cork & Brew 2200 Broad Street any time between 12-3pm to donate. During the month of December a number of Village businesses will also be selling the laminated ornaments including: Cork & Brew, Little Falls Café, River'sEdge Flowers, Twice Told Tales and Village Art & Antiques. We will post additional stores as more join this list.

And on Friday, December 14, from 3:30-7:30 pm GFNA is hosting a fundraiser at the Aspray Boat House. They will be offering crafts, baked goods, hot chocolate, raffles, and more. Please bring donations of gift cards from any major department store, including Target, WalMart, Home Depot, Toys R Us, or others that can be used by the families in New York so they can rebuild their lives or for the children who may not have toys for Christmas. You will be given a laminated ornament to hang on the Village Christmas Tree as you leave the park.

Our strength lies in our bonds of community, our desire to help, and our shared willingness to act in support of each other.
